Drive to Serengeti/Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Game drive en-route. O/N Ndutu Safari Lodge located in the southern plains of the Serengeti. Based on research completed by Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS), and our friend Grant Hopcraft (employed by FZS), Ndutu Safari Lodge is the closest and best location, during these dates, for the annual wilderbeest migration to be located.
The time here will evolve around the scenic region of Lake Ndutu (normally dry), focusing on finding ourselves amongst thousands of wildebeest, on their yearly migration. Hugo Van Lawick, a famed european wildlife film maker, lived in this region for a good part of his life, due to the plentiful game and scenic landscape. During our days here we will encounter many of the plains game including; lion, leopard, cheetah, zebra, elephant, buffalo and many species of antelope... Birdlife is especially exciting, if there is a small amount of water in the lowland areas, of the now dried up Lake Ndutu.
